International Poultry Exhibition (SAVI) – Yaounde, Cameroun – 26 – 28 October 2016

The second International Poultry Exhibition (SAVI) took place from 26 to 28 October 2016 at the Congress Hall in Yaounde. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to Cameroon to present the latest technologies, innovations and expertise to professionals in the poultry sector, which has suffered enormously since May due to several Avian Influenza cases. This crisis caused to the industry a loss of nearly 16 billion CFA. However, all actors involved hope that this second edition of SAVI will quickly boost the revival of the sector. VMD was one of the 150 national and international participants, in collaboration with its distributor Huvavet under the direction of Dr. Hugues Njassap. Huvavet, our partner in Cameroon since 2010, has its headquarters in Douala with two subsidiaries in Yaounde and in Bafoussam, considered the heart of the poultry sector. The teams of all subsidiaries as well as Mrs. Véronique Aben, Area Manager French speaking Africa at VMD, were present to welcome visitors i.e. poultry farmers, egg producers, veterinarians, students, feed producers …

Despite the crisis, the visitors were numerous, which emphasizes once more the intention of a rapid and determined recovery. We are very satisfied with the level of participation and ready to continue serving the sector with high quality pharmaceutical & nutritional products. Together with our professional partner Huvavet, we will provide our maximum contribution to the protection and profitability of the industry, hoping for a quick recovery and revitalization.
